It's a Red letter day

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

At the Clackamas County Shelter...51 years in the making....lots of hard work & begging....today we did 3 spays and 2 neuters IN-HOUSE!

Yep our surgical suite is up and running. Today 5 more dogs entered the world of not helping with overpopulation.

It was a good day...we are all exhausted (the two techs are learning..one hasn't been in surgery in years and the other one never). It was worth the work.

Thank you all. We were completely exhausted by the end of the first day...and are looking forward to tomorrow which is day 2. Scared to death of the first one we lose...but willing to take the risk for all the ones we save.

Second surgery day...2 spays. 2 neuters...Damn Pugs. Can someone please explain why people are breeding them so badly that the poor things can't breathe on a good day and really can't breathe when their vomiting after surgery? Carp I though we'd lost her at least twice today.

Alls well that ends well...she will have a wonderful home with Pug experienced owners that are retired.
