Unbreakaball

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby SLS61185 » August 22nd, 2010, 3:26 am

Has anyone ever heard of this toy? If so, thoughts on it? If not... Thoughts on it? lol.

http://www.unbreakaball.com/index.html

I seen it on a link on Facebook and am kinda tempted to get it... But not too sure, just yet. Looks kinda neat!

I would like to find a new toy for Patch that he can't destroy... As of right now, the only toy he has that he can't destroy is his Kong Ball... Everything else is gone in two seconds.

If it does actually work, then I'm okay with spending almost $19 on a ball for him, with free replacements if it's broken and free shipping. If it doesn't.. Then I just don't know.

Have not heard of it but if they kill it they'll replace it... even if it doesn't go the distance you get a free replacement, so you're really not out anything if the company has to continuously send you replacements. It's like unlimited toys! :p

Definitely find someone who had one and see if it lasted. Sometimes you can find rewiews on "epinions.com".

I bought mine the "EGG" a few years ago, which was supposedly designed for strong dogs. My labradork had a hole in it in 20 minutes and carried it like a pocketbook.

We have one of these:

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=2751746

No one has destroyed it...though there are HUGE gouges from teeth all over it...(it makes the edges really sharp...and makes gums and lips bleed easily, btw). I have to put it away because my crazy herders love it too much...(Xander wants it to stop moving, Ripley wants to make it move...and it gets loud and noisy.)

I've never seen the one you're showing...but it looks easier to get a tooth into to destroy...:|

Have you tried one of these?

http://www.goughnuts.com/GoughNuts.php
GoughNuts Guarantee - If your dog chews through the outside wear layer, Green or Black, to expose the indication layer, Red, GoughNuts will replace your toy. GoughNuts patent pending, "Chew Toy Safety Indicator" is a mechanism for the dog owner to see a clear indication of when to take the GoughNut from the dog.

Mine have not managed to even put a dent in those toys, and I'm really impressed! :)

Didn't Inara or someone tear through one? I think they're listed in the toy thread...

I bought one goughnut to try out with my guys. It's still holding up, but mostly because they don't play with it.
Occasionally Sidda will pick it up and run around with it in her mouth, but that's about it. Shades played with it for a few days and lost interest.

Is it solid all the way through?

It's all rubber, right?

Honestly, I buy him toy after toy and he destroys everything. Like I said before, the only thing he hasn't destroyed is the kong ball (Thanks to Christine for tellin' me about it like two years ago!). There isn't anything that I don't let him play with. He chews on everything but doesn't swallow any of it (knock on wood)... He just likes to destroy everything he gets his mouth and paws on.

I'll talk to Mike and see which one he wants to get for Patch.

So... we got our Unbreakaball this morning... I have mixed feelings about it. :|
It's very sturdy and fairly big, but - Faust was in a panic several times when his teeth got "stuck" in the little holes (which are supposed to make it easier for the dog to get a grip and pick up the ball).
Since mine also like to tug a lot I will not let two dogs play w/this ball together - I can see the potential for an accidental disaster and some very expensive dental work.

We've been getting the "plubber" bones from petsmart-- plushy stuff fused to hollow rubber with a squeaker.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3884285

Just the bone shaped ones-- those faces look too easy to rip off. Not indestructible, but they definitely last longer than most other non-kong or JW items. They eventually poke a hole in the bones, but no one's managed to really kill one. The JW Cuz and their little honeycomb balls have both survived a while, too.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750990

River only really likes plushy toys, but she picks at them and disembowels them, so we've been trying out a new Go Dog toy from Sherpa with the "chewguard" layer. So far so good... :| She has the pterodactyl.

Hmmm.... Patch plays by himself or with my husband or myself. I wouldn't have to worry about another dog, but the teeth thing, maybe. I know he gets his teeth stuck in his Kong Ball because he bites down into it really hard. So I'm guessing I should avoid this one, huh?

I haven't decided on what to get him just yet.

This ball is much bigger than the Kong ball, and is has no "give"... so, if you have dogs who like to bite down hard on toys (like mine do) it could definitely get "stuck" on a tooth and wedge itself down pretty firmly.
Ask Mr. Sepp... :rolleyes2: :nono:

It DOES seem to be unbreakable though... and if the holes were bigger I would have no complaints at all. lol

OKay, tell you what... Give it a week or so and then let me know ifyou still like it. Then, if you do, I'll probably get it. If not, then I'll get one of the other toys on here.
