The aftermath...

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby mnp13 » July 14th, 2010, 11:17 am

Come to think of it, they asked breed when I got my leash burn too. I refused to answer. Why on earth does it matter what breed of dog was at the other end of the long line that got wrapped around my ankle?? I was at my Dr's office, and they know I have Pit Bulls, so they could have put 2 and 2 together, but seriously....

Yikes! That looks terrible!!
Take care of it and I hope you feel better soon.

A couple of months ago, I got a huge hematoma that got infected like that too. Before that I didn't know that you could get an infection is a closed wound like that.

Ouuuuch!

And I thought the occasional bloody lip was bad.... lol

I would have lied about the dogs as well. Pit bull + injury = wrong impression!

Very serious cellulite infection... and in the words of the surgeon I saw today: "There's something brewin' in there, and I'm going to have to root around and see what it is." LMAO

He's actually the first competent doctor I've seen... the other four kept putting me on different cocktails of antibiotics, w/strict instructions to "keep my foot elevated". For the past five weeks. Duh. :rolleyes2:
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it wasn't working... I don't even have a shoe big enough to fit on my foot... how sad is that? lol

They put her on massive amounts of Vankomyacin.....which needs to be done via IV.....

Well hopefully they'll get some actual cultures and find what antibiotics will work! Yes that Vancomycin stuff is wonderful, it kills almost everything these days. I'm really hoping your foot looks better than some cellulitis infections I've seen at the hopsital.

Best of luck to you! Sending some good thoughts your way.

Dear Lord, Woman! I will be thinking good foot thoughts for you. If there's anything I can help you with, let me know. I can be in your area on Sunday and Monday if you need an extra set of hands (or feet, but I'm not sacrificing mine to your crazy dogs!)
