We tell Robin to "go to your room." lol

Sounds like she's in trouble, but she knows better... She gets kongs, treats, quiet nap time, toys... 8)

Thanks for sharing! I am learning how to clicker train Toby and even though he isn't a puppy, watching the process was very helpful! One of my friends is a clicker/positive trainer and her help has been really valuable. This just helped reinforce it for me. =)

Was that the first session she did? Looks like a smart and engaged little dog

I always find it interesting to watch where people reward when training these go to behaviors. Seems to be a 50/50 mix of people resetting the behavior with the reward and people rewarding in place and resetting after.

It's her newest Service Dog in training...he does seem like a very nice little dog, doesn't he? Her last one was a Great Dane!

I saw an article about this a while back, I think...I'll have to see if I can find it again. I find it interesting too...I vary depending on what I'm working with.

Yeah, if you find it please share

Bob Bailey discussed this quite a bit on clicker solutions forum and discussed some interesting results

I've always heard "click for behavior, feed for position," but I also vary between "resetting" Inara or feeding her in place.

Yep

Animals also tend to gravitate towards where the food delivery is happening. Occasionally you will see dogs start to break immediately after the behavior and run out of the crate if all of the rewards are given outside of the crate (to reset).

It is an interesting discussion and I would be very interested to know if there is a difference in the time of learning a stationary behavior when all rewards were given where the behavior took place versus resetting the dog with rewards.
