Have you been cooking again Joyce?? Stop eating mom's food baby boy & your tummy will feel all better.

Good thoughts coming your way!!!

8) When the Vet first said to just "make some chicken, hamburgers and meatballs (to hide his pills in), all without any sauces or spices" I thought to myself: " Make? :| Sauces? I don't even have salt or pepper in my cabinet. And how do you make a meatball???" :sad2:

My freezer is now packed with Harley food and of course, ice cubes for the dogs water, which I always have been able to make.

Maybe Harley just decided it was time for you to learn how to cook and this is the method he chose to get you to learn. He's a pretty smart guy.

I will also be thinking about you both today, sending good thoughts, and hoping for the best!

He is home. :)

X-ray showed no blockages, but his stomach wall looks "thick" and irritated.

The specialist who came in to do the sonogram will have her report into my Vet in 36 hours, but my Vet said just looking fast, there didn't seem to be any abnormalities. But he is not the specialist and acknowledges that.

Blood work and lipase tests will be in Thursday.

As of now, we are continuing to treat it as gastritis. He will continue Reglan, Pepcid, Sucralfate (I think that was it...don't have bottle in front of me) and now adding Flagyl and an appetite enhancer.

Again, Vet couldn't get over how happy-go-lucky Harley was; barking up a storm and wanting to play outside with the Vet Techs.

The bill was only $720. My Vet did not charge me for the pills they gave him there, the Flagyl I took home, the office examination, or the day of "babysitting" Harley, since I was working. :)

Well, I know it's not satisfying still having no answers, but at least they're able to rule out some serious stuff. :) I'm glad he's feeling so well!

Yes, Liz, you are correct. :) I am thinking at least they didn't look at the xrays/sonogram and say: OH NO. :o

This sounds promising. I'm with Liz, at least they ruled out some more serious stuff. Still sending good thoughts...

Gah... I know how frustrating this must be, to see nothing "apparently" wrong. On the other hand it's also very GOOD news. :D

Time to pull out all the stops and let Harleybird smoke a joint... it's supposed to make you hungry, or so I've heard... :|

Phew!! Thank goodness there's nothing wrong in there. Now, onto good news from the bloodwork and lipase.

I'M sure you can hire a few neighborhood kids to take care of the appetite stimulation part that Christine suggested... :D

8)

Well, guess who ATE ALL HIS BREAKFAST and wanted more?!?! I put a dish of chicken breast down for him and he ate it without one dirty look my way! He came over to me and was dancing a little so I gave him a second helping. He ate that, too!
