Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Thank you, and I will look for it. We have many culturally diverse stores here, and I think I saw bison in the one that caters to Portuguese taste.

call2arms wrote:And the bloodwork was all fine, and he seems fine except for throwing up and eating inconsistently. That's puzzling.

Yep. :| And this has happened on and off for the 8 years I have had him (I got him at 9 months). The episodes have become closer and longer.

Angie, He is just refusing all food. She tried to feed him everything in the house and he won't eat. He is drinking fine. She has something set up for tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Missy....and everyone else.

He ate Sunday, a little amount at 2:45 pm. Then he refuses to eat again. Drinks water. Runs like the wind outside. Rolls over playfully outside and acts "normal".

This morning: won't eat.

Vet makes arrangements to have a sonogram done Tuesday morning. Also, more blood work. It is another step in my Vet's and my plan of attack.

I get home at 3;30 today (I am teaching summer school) and feed the other three. I prepare 8 items for him, giving it to him one at a time. He sniffs and walks away from each one. I don't show any emotion positive or negative.

He finally eats the Natural Balance beef roll that I shredded. About a cup. Then he goes for the shredded cheddar cheese. Maybe a cup.

He stops by the water bucket, has a drink, goes outside, rolls around on the grass, runs to bark at something in the tree, and things seem so normal, you wouldn't know he hasn't eaten in 24 hours or has lost all that weight.

Anyway, the sonogram will tell us something or nothing. And my Vet and I will take it from there.

Just keep sending him good health thoughts.

I hope the ultrasound brings good news, and a whole new set of things to do to help him eat.

Thank you, Ladies. :) My son was BBQing steak and I told him to make one for Harley. I figured maybe after the sonogram, he would be hungry, so I would send an assortment of food for them to give him. Harley just ate a handful of "Porterhouse". He isn't allowed to eat after 10 pm, so I am glad he got something in his stomach to last him through the night.
