Summertime, part 2...

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

should probably be renamed "Stupid Human Tricks"...  :rolleyes2:

And, NO... there never is a dull moment at my house, but not all those moments are as cute/funny as you guys seem to think. :x >(

Since the temps are supposed to reach 100+ today I decided to let the dogs out to play early this morning while it was still fairly cool outside. Again... me, the human, "doing something nice"...
Seppel was on a long lead since he has started *chasing* people along the fence again any time someone walks by, and if those people have a dog in tow... well... he acts like an asshat, and he gets the other dogs all riled up in the process.
I try to be a good neighbor, and I wanted to avoid a lot of barking and commotion at 7 am. :|

Anywho... all went well for about 30 minutes... everybody pottied, wrestled, ran around, and had fun while i sat on the porch and had my first cup of coffee. THEN Faust found the new Orbee football, and we started playing fetch.... bad, bad, bad idea.
Things are still a little hazy, but...when three dogs get VERY excited, and start to circle you... make sure the long lead is NOT wrapped around your ankle right before you throw the freakin' Orbee clear across the yard.
I do remember getting yanked off my feet and falling on my arse... literally... and I'm also pretty sure I got dragged through some wet grass and mud while Sepp was completely oblivious since he only had "GET the Orbee at ALL costs" on the brain... didn't bother him in the least that there was a PERSON attached to him... :mad2: :crazy2: :bs:

So, my foot is now three times its normal size and hurts like hell when I hobble... and it's starting to become quite colorful which can't be good. :cuss:

Ya'll feel free to laugh now... :sad2:

P.S. I usually DO find stories like this quite amusing also... but only as long as it doesn't involve MY dogs, or MY foot, or MY arse... :nono:

I am sorry Christine. I have had the lead wrap around, falling down thing happen to me. I have learned a new dance when playing with Kinzyl. I know I look ridiculous jumping around trying to avoid the lead. :rolleyes2:

Sit down, put ice on your foot and I hope it feels better soon.

I'm pretty sure some of the neighbors watched from behind their curtains... could be that my feelings are more hurt than my foot... lol

But thanks , Missy...

Ouch!!! Been there too- my neighbor's little Chessie is insane on her tie out and tries to trip you up all the time. The worst part is her lead is not as thick as Ino's so it tends to coil up on its own and when she gets your foot in the loop- she takes off. I have many scars from tie out burns on my shins too from her running past me at full speed!! It is quite embarassing when they take you down!! She also has taken me out when we were walking through the woods in winter and the path was pure ice- 2x in one day when she decided to split a tree and then later let slack in the leash and then run as fast as she could to take the slack out!! Gotta love'em though!! :D

I got a rope burn from a flexi once at the beach...my mum was holding the leash for Xander, my dad threw a ball...Xander whipped around my legs and gave me a nasty rope burn...RIGHT BEHIND MY KNEES...in the bend of my legs.

So yeah, I definitely feel your pain! No laughing here (though I'm still giggling at the scary ice cube story)...hope that foot feels better soon!

Ouch! The first story was funny. This one, not so much. Hopefully you have some ice left! It should help!

sorry kiddo, I'm laughing, cause...been there, done that! Try a 140 Mastiff on a tie out when a car goes by and scares him...and his tie out is at the back of your lawn chair.

Oh ouch! You're probably lucky it didn't rip your ankle open. I'll never forget Michelle's ankle after a long lead got wrapped around it. I'll also never forget her nearly passing out as I put the antibiotic cream on it. Ouch.

Yeah, THAT was special. First thing I thought of when I started reading this. The pictures are somewhere around here.

IF there had been blood I would have passed out right then... I am a real wuss when it comes to my own blood.

I can definitely handle other peoples open wounds though. :)

You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!'
