Injured cat! Help!!

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Noah (big fat blue cat) wont put any weight on his left foot. I was just outside and he came limping up to the door. It isnt swollen and I dont see any wound. He is eating right now, and other than the very obvious limp, he is normal. What should I do?

Maybe he has a sticker in it? :| Will he let you check?

Maybe he just hit it on something, or landed wrong in a jump and it's sore? If it's not swollen, and has no obvious signs of injury you could take him to the vet, or maybe crate him to make sure he gives it a rest for a while?

I came home one day, and the cat's paw was HUGE, and I MEAN HUGE. It looked like something ran over it and smooshed it flat, if it swelled anymore I just knew it would explode. I couldn't imagine what the heck, next day ~ the paw and cat were perfectly normal... :|
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure....

How old is he? Did he take a fall?

It could be what our cat had once, I forget what it is called but they had to put a cast on it. I thought it was broken and he couldn't walk and couldn't jump up at all.
But they said it happens when they are, for instance, going thru a fence or something and get one leg caught, and continue to pull on it.
A cast helped him alot. :|
That was his back leg. Is Noah's back leg or front leg injured?
Can you check for a sticker? Maybe he got stung by a bee?

I have had my male cat come back lame twice in the past 6 months, (he sneaks outside when he's not suppose to). The first time he was completely unable to walk, and I suspected his leg was broken because he couldn't walk at all. I decided if it was a break, it wouldn't make a huge difference if I held off until the vet's office was open, and lo & behold, by the next day, he was walking on it a little . . . so I waited another day . . . and he was walking on it more . . . and now he's perfectly fine!!

Cats . . . ugh . . .

It's probably reasonable to give it a day or maybe even two if he shows no other sypmptoms and can walk/limp on it.

Noah is about 4 years old.

There is no lump, sticker or sore in it. It is just barely swollen. He is still not putting any weight on it.

He was let outside last night by accident and he came back this afternoon. He is acting completely normal other than his foot. I am bringing him to see a vet tomorrow.

He looks so pathetic hopping around

Hopefully, he just sprained it in a jump. Good luck at the vets. :)
