In fact, when my husband and I decided we wanted a dog, we didn't know what breed we were looking for. I did a general search on petfinder only to discover how many more homeless pit bulls there were than any other breed. So I felt, knowing that, I couldn't not
consider it. And that's where my research began, and meeting pit bulls and conversations and preparations and even more research. What really convinced me, though, was an hours-long conversation with Cydney Cross from Out of the Pits, before I even filled out an application to adopt a dog.
After we brought Chico home, I became more involved in advocacy and rescue, both with OotP and independently. Ruby was, a year and a half later, a perfect match for our family, and truth be told, she chose us.
They're my love bugs. But for some reason your BB doesn't like to show images hosted on shutterfly, so I'll have to figure something else out later to post pictures.
