Canine Cancer color

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

How do you all know that green is the color for canine cancer?

When I looked it up, I found that lime green is the color for lymphoma awareness.
I just wanted to make sure because we're making a collar for causes for canine cancer awareness.
These are my prototypes (the brown with darker green stones is for Christine's Sepp and the lime green one, which came out looking more yellow in the pics, is for Ophie):

Sepp's is lined in a dark green suede.

I'm so freakin' pissed off at cancer right now. And I want it destroyed so that no one else's heart dog has to be taken from them due to this god awful disease.
I have contacted ParisStreetCrew to see if her canine cancer research company would be interested in receiving 20% of each collar sale, and I'm waiting to hear back from her.

I'm serious. I've never been so pissed off at something in my entire life.
And we want to contribute to finding a cure, a preventative, and/or educating people about canine cancer.

Those are beautiful Rebecca. That is a wonderful thing to do for Allie's cause.

Anytime anything takes something we love so much there is anger involved. I am so sorry for you and everyone who lost a friend to this horrible disease. All we can do is just keep fighting and hopefully one day there will be a cure. Thanks for fighting. :hug3:

Thank you for what you are doing to help fight canine cancer. You have a wonderful idea, donating to research. The collars are beautiful!

I hate canine cancer too....WITH A PASSION.

As soon as Leni is done growing, I'll be ordering a collar from you for her in Vinny's memory.

Rebecca, that is an awesome thing to do = channel your anger and contribute to research at the same time. I love the ribbon conchos. So simple, yet so symbolic.

How wonderful if no one else had to go down that cancer road.

The National Canine Cancer Foundation has a lighter kind of color of pink. Their bracelets are almost a salmon color.

Green seems to stand for multiple things - cancer being one of them. Those collars are absolutely awesome.

Thanks, guys.

I am not sure that Allie's organization will be interested, though. I am waiting to hear back from her. If not, we will find another cancer organization to donate to, but I really hope there is a way that Allie's employer will participate in this.

Rebecca, your work is gorgeous, as always. :) One thing about you, your husband and your company...You are always giving back and thinking of others. Ella must be so proud to have her name on your company.

I saw this poem on someones desk at work and copied down, as Ella had just passed, when I read it. There was a drawing of a person looking up towards a shooting star.

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

oh man. Joyce!!!
That kind of stuff is beautiful, but it still makes me cry!!!!!
Thank you for it, though. I'm keeping and saving all the wonderful things that people have sent me; the messages, the emails, the cards.
And one day, when this isn't still so fresh and painful, I know I'll be able to look back at these things and remember how SOOOOOO many people loved Ella, not just us.
And how soooo many wonderful people were there for us when Ella passed.

But it's still so fresh, and I still mourn her everyday.
