So, I'm crazy, I know.

Post your pics and vids here.

Actually we're BOTH crazy. Meet my foster pup, "Luke". He doesn't look like a "Luke" to me, but that is what the rescue named him.
He's GREAT (so far)
He and Ophie play to no irritating end.
He's a tad guardy with high value items with Ophie (we can take what we want from him), so all bully sticks and/or bones will be put up unless they are in their crates.
He and Ophie play rather rough, and SHE is the aggressor when it comes to playing. She simply won't stop.
So, we are working on "ENOUGH!" with both of them with high praise when they stop.

He's gorgeous. Anyone would be a fool not to want to adopt this boy.
He is 6 months old. And he's awesome. Very well behaved (so far). Not completely housebroken, though, but we'll work on it.

I know. I'm probably going to suck at it, too.
But this all depends.

We need to teach Ophie to activate her "off" switch when it comes to playing.
Because it's just NON-STOP play with her when he's out.

Crapping hell.
He has kennel cough.

And while Ophie came from the same place, and already had it and has been treated, our vet told us there is a dang good possibility that she could get it again (due to it possibly being a different strain).
I know kennel cough is common, and happens when dogs are boarded near each other, but it's just one more thing.

Oh well. Maybe they'll give us some stuff for Ophie just in case (of course we wouldn't give it to her unless she started showing signs of the kennel cough).

He goes in Monday evening.

Thanks, guys!

Well about the KC. He came from the SAME place Ophie did, so we're hoping that the KC is the same strain and since she's already had it and recovered from it, hopefully she won't get it again.

He looks so serious :giggle:

I'd imagine you have a pretty substantial chance its the same strain of KC

He's not up for adoption quite yet. I need to bring him to the vet Monday to see about his kennel cough, which I'm sure my vet will want to treat.
The rescue head was kind of hoping that he'd be a foster-to-adopt situation, which they do those, but she's giving me 2 weeks to decide if we want to adopt him, then she wants to list him if we decide by then that he's not a keeper.
I would LOVE to be to say that she gave us this dog solely to foster, and that was the only idea in the plan. But she went and found about the most dang near perfect dog for us to foster.

Are you near Illinois?

Oh, I guess I misunderstood the post. I can very well understand how he can tug at your heart - he is a fine-looking little gentleman !!! I hope the kennel cough gets taken care of quickly and that Ophie is not affected by it.

I live in TX. I lost Gambit, my 14 yr. furfriend in January. (He was Trouble's dad.) There was such a void in my heart and home I began slowly looking around. I had a brand new pup coming but thru a series of problems it did not work out. Anyway, I am looking around again. My 8 yr. old autistic grandson lives with us so I have to be very selective with my choice. I will say that my grandson is not your typical autistic child but he is ADHD. My thinking is that it will be better for me to find a pup that will grow up around him.

Anyway, good luck to all of you and I hope it works out !!

awww!

My 13 year old son is also autistic.
And Ella was the dog that taught him not to fear other dogs.

If we decide not to adopt him, I'll ask the rescue head about out-of-state adoptions, and then I'll let you know.
