Inara's first obedience trial...

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby pitbullmamaliz » May 30th, 2010, 1:24 pm

And we got 4th place out of like 17 dogs!!! We NQ'ed on our 2nd run-thru because she was just hot and tired and her heeling was sloppy, but after her heeling she got minus 0 on the exercises - we could have had a nearly perfect score! Oh well. :)

I cannot tell you guys how thrilled I was with her behavior. She barked at a few dogs, but once I crated her in my car she settled right in and relaxed/slept. Her first run-thru there were no other dogs in the building, and her 2nd run-thru there was only one dog in there. So I know that helped. But she did so well! Once we were in the ring and working, she was so focused! It was amazing and I'm super excited.

And I'm sorry, but I did NOT have to go through a window so there are no pics/video of me having to hoist Inara and myself through.

We are both exhausted - it was a long, hot morning. I think a nap is in our near future. :)

I'm not a competition kind of person, but I'm thinking 4 out of 17 for the first time is just 'AWESOME'!

Thanks girls!

Allison, I did get bitten by the competition bug! lol I want to do more C-WAGS obedience and maybe branch into their rally. I really enjoyed seeing Inara perform with such energy and joy. And of course it's kind of nice to be the only one with a pit bull. Open some eyes a bit.

I know in August I have my Dog Sports Open competition. That's a scary one. Scary, but fun! I feel much more prepared for it now than I did last year! lol

Inara's SECOND obedience trial. The DSO was her first.

Having some counting issues? :crazy2:

Congrats!

lol So sorry! I should have said maybe the first one we had actually trained and prepared for as opposed to using the hope and pray method!

You and Ruby better watch out at the DSO this year. We're going out on a flat collar and kicking butt.

I'll let Riggs and Ruby know that you're out for blood.
