OH! Well you live in a very different town than me! :D In my town, I'd probably be related to Officer Ignoramus, that's how small town living goes! At the very least, I'd run into him at K-Mart. LOL

I do actually know some of the officers here, go figure.

Anyway, I'll have a drink to you and he never crossing paths again! :beerChug:

He was trying to build reasonable suspicion that his warrant suspect was hiding in your house. That's why he asked about rabies, tags, etc.

I would call and get his name and ask to speak to his supervisor to air your concerns about the way he treated you. If your dogs were contained on the porch they can be as nasty as they want; he's in no danger. If he walks into your yard and your dog comes around the corner after him, he would be justified in shooting if he felt threatened. But as long as the dogs are on your property and are contained, he has no reason to insinuate that he would have any reason to "do something" about them.

Okay... that doesn't make any sense to me - sorry... :? :|

I actually would've allowed him to come into my yard/house and check for himself, if he had asked me... I know I'm not legally obligated to do so, but it wouldn't have bothered me at all to let him have a look around.

You know it's not my goal to give an officer a hard time... just don't mess w/my dogs.

I meant in a "professional capacity"... while he's out looking for fugitives and what-not. I'm a pretty law-abiding citizen, for the most part... lol
If we were to see each other at K-mart and he wasn't on duty, for example... and he made the same comments... well, then all bets would be off. :D

I think that Demo means, that he didn't believe that the guy had moved and was trying to "trip you up" and find a back door way/excuse to come on the property...
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

Correct. Whenever I attempt to locate a warrant suspect and the person living at his last known address tells me he's moved, I assume that they are probably lying to me and try to catch them in a lie or leverage my way in.

I sounds like he was just being a jerk.
