Its true. It isn't fair. It doesn't have anything to do with caring about animals, it has to do with the size of client base, availability of supplies, minimum wage for the area, what the hospital the animal goes to is able to provide on a WHOLE (24 hour Doctor supervision and Emergency walk-in care plus the staff to assist, $70, 000 ultrasound machine, specialists that can be called in, lab work available in house) etc, etc, ETC. Some places have to wait a couple of days for labwork and send it away (which could be life or death in an emergency), or are only open during the day, or leave pets alone at night, or don't have a Doctor on call, or don't have a Doctor available at the clinic/hospital 24 hrs/day.
The place I used to work at, and where my regular vet(whom I love, and who truly tries to help those trying to do the right thing for their pets) hospitalizes ALL of his patients, and does most of his surgeries, what Inara had done would have cost upwords of $5-700 dollars total(initial visit with xrays plust the stay in hospital). Now, we are in Canada, where Vet fees are regulated and the dollar is worth different, but I know it would have been much more then what Liz paid, and that is fair.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.
