Almost forgot to mention that for Inara to spend the day at the vet, getting fed and pampered and having x-rays taken - $32.

WE HAVE POOP!!!!!
:confetti:  :woowoo: :bounce:  :elephant: :band: :mrHappy:  :beerChug: :bananaDance: :cheer: :helloClap: :smilehead: :square: :groupjump: :smileSwitch: :purpleBanana: :poop:

I cheered, she did her sassy little "look at me" kicking of the ground, and life was good. The poop was remarkably normal though, which did disappoint me somewhat. I guess I was expecting something spectacular after all of this waiting! lol

Just catching up on this thread now. I'm glad your dog was able to have a successful bowel movement. Believe it or not, they don't make cards for this occasion.

I find that a little RMB goes a long way, and it helps to feed some fibrous veggies like canned green beans at the same time to keep things moving along normally. Just be sure to take baby steps or her ass will explode all over your house.

Demo, I am appalled they don't make "glad your dog had a BM" cards. I may have to write a sternly worded letter to Hallmark...

Yeah, I'm wondering if I let her eat too much of it. But now I'm super hesitant to give her bone ever again. It turned into a rather expensive (and stressful!) treat.

There are a few vets left in this world that actually care about animals.

Glad to hear Inara is doing better!

The Wiener is still in awe of her talent...and still wants to make beautiful babies with her.

Hey, that's not fair.

Vets have to pay their staff, their taxes, their mortgage, their insurance, professional development, equipment upkeep, and everything else that goes into running a clinic. That ain't free. (And if Ohio is anything like New York, about half of what any small business makes is gone in taxes right off the top.)

I have an amazing vet (I go to Walworth, and usually see Dr. Campbell), they aren't cheap, but I have never ever doubted that they care very much about all of my animals.

Its true. It isn't fair. It doesn't have anything to do with caring about animals, it has to do with the size of client base, availability of supplies, minimum wage for the area, what the hospital the animal goes to is able to provide on a WHOLE (24 hour Doctor supervision and Emergency walk-in care plus the staff to assist, $70, 000 ultrasound machine, specialists that can be called in, lab work available in house) etc, etc, ETC. Some places have to wait a couple of days for labwork and send it away (which could be life or death in an emergency), or are only open during the day, or leave pets alone at night, or don't have a Doctor on call, or don't have a Doctor available at the clinic/hospital 24 hrs/day.

The place I used to work at, and where my regular vet(whom I love, and who truly tries to help those trying to do the right thing for their pets) hospitalizes ALL of his patients, and does most of his surgeries, what Inara had done would have cost upwords of $5-700 dollars total(initial visit with xrays plust the stay in hospital). Now, we are in Canada, where Vet fees are regulated and the dollar is worth different, but I know it would have been much more then what Liz paid, and that is fair.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.
