Good afternoon everyone and thanks for another great pit bulls forum. There are not enough in the cyber world.
Anywho....I'm Woorley (me) and Layla (her) from Chicago. Layla is a 6 year old pit/? mix shelter dog waiting for her TPLO surgery date next week. I belong to "another" pit forum and was recommended to this lovely place from a few gals I know from yet another forum.
(Hi Cheeky and Kato)
Thanks and nice to meet everyone.

Welcome to the forum. :)

Good luck with the surgery. A lot of dogs here who went though it, so if you search the topic, you can get more information, if you need it.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and thanks for the full access. Was wondering why I couldn't access the search feature. : )

This is our first big issue health wise. We've had allergy and food issues for years so I don't sweat the small stuff. My biggest stress about the surgery is the after care. Thank the heavens for vacation time.

Anyone know of a good link here or otherwise that talks about how to handle the days after?
I found this one which I can totally relate to about the anxiety but would love others to calm my nerves.

Hello Chi-town,

I saw your post about your pooches TPLO surgery, if you don't mind me asking but, where are you getting this done? Recently, my boyfriend and I took our dog to banfield (bloomingdale) because he has been limping on his R hind leg. After examining his leg they said he'll probably need TPLO, and recommended Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove. But it's going to cost around $3,000!!! How much are you spending? And good luck with your dogs surgery.
