Renee was bugging me today because it poured all day, so I decided to pull out my new clicker (I just got a Clik-R to try out) and have some fun with her.

This one is something we've worked on a few times - getting all four feet inside a hula hoop. We started out with a big hoop and graduated to this smaller one.

And then I worked on some "perching" on a plastic box. She's never done anything with the box before, but has worked on paw targeting with other objects.

That was great to watch! She seemed to "get" the hoola-hoop right away. And I love listening to her chew on the treats. 8)

Great vids! I'm slowly starting to become fond of, and less frightened of (!) shaping. It's so neat watching their brains turn!

:wave2: Hey Renee!! I love her. I love watching Sarah work with the dogs. Everytime I break out the clicker Kinzyl and Sammy go crazy. They both know what is coming and I love watching them learn. Taught Kinzyl how to perch the other night during a break and she did great.

Thanks everyone! Renee sometimes looks at me like I'm crazy when I try to get her to do strange things, but I know deep down she really likes it. And best of all, after 10 minutes of shaping sessions, she stops pestering me and takes a nap.

She also makes me laugh with things she tries sometimes, like when she suddenly noticed the camera and tried targeting it to see if I would click her.

"Think" is my attempt to control throwing lots of behaviors before I'm ready.

lol I was actually feeding her part of her dinner, along with a few yummier treats thrown in, a couple of which were a lot crunchier than I realized.
