I was just told that the dogs have until March 10th to find placement. Not sure what happens after that. If anybody can help ANY of these dogs, please do!!!

I've got a rescue interested in Sophie! It's pretty iffy at this point, but they say they are "trying to get her". The rescue is here in Illinois, in the Chicago area. With all of her possible medical issues, it would be great if all of us could help them out financially.... We may need to provide transport too if anyone is willing. I'll keep you posted.

Angie has been a godsend in trying to help me find a rescue for Sophie! I've also gotten a couple rescues that may be able to take her. I'm waiting on one to call me now. Hopefully we'll have rescues fighting over her!

And thank you to Sophie's Guardian Angel who donated a generous sum of money for her medical care if she comes to me. :heartbeat:

I just spoke to my vet's office and it reminded me of why I love them so much. Their rough guesstimate to remove Sophie's mass, fix her hernia and spay her is $250. That's it. I adore them. She said they will then send the mass off if they feel it necessary.

After hearing that, I'm much more at ease about taking her in. I do realize that they may find more wrong with her, but for those 3 procedures I think that's a great price. I did forget to ask if Sophie would need to gain weight before undergoing surgery...

I spoke to a woman last night who currently has no room in her rescue for Sophie, but she said that if I can foster her for a bit she will help me with her medical care. So those of you who sent money, I will hopefully be able to send it all back to you in a week or so if the rescue steps up to help! I appreciate you guys so much!

So holy crap, I just got an email - can I take Sophie possibly tonight, but tomorrow night at the latest??? EEK! I'm so not prepared to have 2 dogs, but I'll do it! So those of you who sent donations, thank you again and you can rest assured they will be put to good use fixing up Miss Sophie. :)

When are you getting her, tonight or tomorrow? She's now a very lucky girl. I hope you start a Sophie thread. :)

I did not get her tonight, but I did get a crate and bedding from the shelter I volunteer with. Sophie's bedroom is all set up and Inara is thoroughly confused! I feel calmer (slightly!) now that that is finished.

I assume Sophie will arrive tomorrow evening. She and Inara will not be meeting until I have somebody else here and I think I'll wait until after she's vetted and healthy, also.

I will post copious amounts of pictures, no worries there!

Angie, LMM Jenn is going to try to get her into her rescue at the end of this month! And the shelter I volunteer with is going to list her on their website as well as Petfinder so hopefully she'll find a home even before then. A&S I think would be willing to send more money if I need it, but I don't think I will. Oddly enough, the financial aspect of this is the LEAST of my worries! lol I have very generous friends here on PBT so Sophie will get the best money can buy. :)
