Pat Miller's Book?

Does anybody have The Power of Positive Dog Training by Pat Miller? It's recommended reading for the shelter team I've become a member of that deals with dogs with major issues. I found it on Amazon for $12 but I don't want to buy it if it's going to tell me the same info every other positive dog training book does. My library doesn't carry it. If somebody has it, would you be willing to let me borrow it? I can Paypal you money for shipping, or just send you some money when I ship it back to you. Let me know!

I love the book, but I think you're a bit beyond what it has to say...it's really basic stuff on positive reinforcement training...it's a nice week by week, blow by blow kind of book...but not sure why they'd recommend that for problem dogs. I can think of other books that are more specific than that one is. It's a great book, and one of my recommended books for puppy raisers and clients...but not necessarily for problem dogs.

When do you need to borrow it, I think my copy is out on loan right now to a puppy raiser? I'll also look at my local Ollie's...I found my copy there super cheap. I may have bought a second copy a while back, I remember thinking "I should buy another copy in case it gets borrowed"...but I can't remember if I did buy it or not...

I think they're having us read that because a lot of the people on this team have never done any clicker training or anything positive reinforcement like that. Honestly, I was kind of surprised because I feel that I'm more advanced than a bunch of them, and I'm not that advanced! Our training yesterday was about the body language of fearful/aggressive dogs, and then Ginger worked briefly with one of the shelter dogs who is fearful towards men in general, and can get very snarky about her collar/neck being touched. People were having trouble understanding the basic "reach toward the neck then treat, reach toward the neck then treat." I don't know, maybe they just freeze up in a setting with that many people watching. So we'll see. I'll at least skim through the book so I can say I did so.

I recently bought it and it is a great book but was very basic and definitely not written specifically for the problem dog in mind.
