As far as I know, no one else among most recognized harness makers are making harnesses the way I do. The breastplate is molded by hand for a contoured fit. Everything is finished totally by hand; color, oil, wax, burnishing, and polish. The edges are completely finished, as well as the split grain side, (inside) of the leather.

This particular harness features stainless steel strap buckles, floral stamped "Chicago screws", and tapered custom fit straps.

Price for custom hand made harnesses is $100.

No one else is putting as much time and care into detail and finishes. I promise that much.

Yeeesssss, for Faust! And the honor will be all mine...

Since those are custom-made - and he's still growing - how do I measure the little stinker so it'll still fit him once he's full grown?

How old is he? How much does he weigh and how much more do you expect he'll grow? I'm good with bulldogs and lines, but not as much with pitbulls.

Measurements I need:
#1 from center of breast bone up around one side, to the center of the shoulders below the base of the neck

#2 all the way around the body. and just behind the legs

#3 finally measure from the center of the breast bone down between the legs to where it will intersect the 2nd measurement

I can make these measurements the minimums, and allow for several inches from there, whats cool about harnesses is having buckles on each side, so 1/2" of adjustment on each side is an inch overall, if I give 4" on ea. strap, it allows for 8" of growth. So it can be done for sure.

Is it just around his neck that gets irritated, Christine?

He's 10 1/2 months old... 70+ pounds... NO idea when he'll be done growing, but I hope it's soon... lol

Nope, he gets irritated all over, but he wouldn't be wearing the harness 24/7, just on walks, and maybe on the treadmill... so, I'd like to try it.

Do you think I should wait a couple of months? Nothing irritates me more than those long straps hanging down on some of the harnesses I've bought in the past... that's why I really like the idea of a custom-made one. :)

Liz? Why does it say "Not a daft prick", under my avatar?

Christine, I'm used to seeing bulldogs filling out between 1 and 2 yrs. For a pit @ 70 lbs, thats a good sized catch weight dog. Without knowing the lines behind him, you may want to wait. I would expect he's gonna do some filling out over the next little bit... ***Buy Now Buy Now*** oops sorry, my fingers are typing again with out checking in first! Ha!

But seriously, I dont like alot of extra tongue either, so yeah, I would wait a bit. But i sure do like that "little" guy! : )
