I have not met the dog in question. I can't take her, so I promised I'd spread the word. Here are the emails from Sharon Lohman (firstname.lastname@example.org
), one of the rescue coordinators for Merced AC:
"Please folks someone help this girl asap. I was called this morning saying she needed to go. When I was at the shelter I was able to get these two photos.
She is going to give birth any day and needs a place to go. If you personally can't help send this out everywhere!!! As you can see from the tummy photo she is going to be skin and bones when the puppies are born. She needs some very good nutrition and less stress. She is in very good spirits and health.
Sorry the "face" photo is not that good - she is very wiggly and wants to visit instead of posing - can't tell you how many photos I took to get this one. I even got into the kennel trying from that angel!!
Again, if you can't help please send this to everyone that maybe can or will also send out right away.
As usual, if at all possible we will transport."
This morning's update:
"Fw: Pregnant pit - SHE HAS HAD EIGHT PUPPIES SO FAR!
Momma started giving birth last night. Now it is crucial to move her asap. The shelter doesn't have a place for mom's with puppies. There is no way to put a whelping box in the size kennel the shelter has so they put a blanket in the kennel. It is tough to keep the puppies on there and then??? Well, we all know.
Help! Pass around PLEASE. We will transport if at all possible.
I can be reached at (209) 769-2122 but will be staying with a friend all day today in the hospital so try to email if at all possible. If you need to reach someone today call Kristen at (209) 5641668."http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p181 ... ntpit1.jpghttp://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p181 ... pit2-1.jpg
If anyone contacts Merced and finds out she's gone to rescue, please update this thread. I won't have reliable internet until Saturday.
