Banana bread and foil

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby pitsnok » January 12th, 2010, 12:37 pm

Apparently yesterday Degan ate an entire loaf of banana bread, and I think about half of the foil it was wrapped in. Tanner didn't tell me about this until this morning when I got up to eat some of the banana bread and he said, "oh, that must have been the foil I found on the ground"

Should I be worried? Tanner said he pooped fine last night, but I am worried that maybe the foil was still in his stomach last night, and now it surely would have passed further and I'm concerned about it causing blockage. And i'm sure now it is too late to make him throw up, right?

He is acting fine, and he has eaten cardboard and other things before, but not ever foil...

I wouldn't worry about the foil too much. Just watch his poop today and I'll bet there will be a shiny present there for you! Seriously, just make sure he continues to be "regular" the next couple of days. That's my advice.

if it passes, you should see the foil within 24-48 hrs. You're gonna want to make sure it all came back out ;)

Haha, yes it was homemade. My grandma always makes me some because I love it so much. The really funny thing is that last Christmas when she made me some my mom's dogs ate all of it! I just can't win!

Anyway, Degan is pooping, but it wasn't solid tonight, and didn't contain anything shiny...(we don't think)... so we're still keeping an eye on him. I didn't expect his poop to be normal since he ate an ENTIRE LOAF of sweet banana bread, but hopefully he will get back to normal soon...

Ugh the things I put up with! :P
