Production rate?

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

I've read somewhere about the production rate of dogs, in general. That fixing one dog can cut down on ______ amount of puppies being born? I've been trying to find some statistics like that, and I'm not having any luck, anyone?
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure....
