Hello All! I'm new to the site. I used to be an avid member of SPBR but due to a falling out I have been directed this way!

I have a lovely little princess named Nala who I initially helped rescue from a shelter in Ohio and subsequently adopted. I also used to have a male named Orion/Jackson/Jaxon. He only lived with me for a month and a half or so before I lost him to an obstructed bowel. He was my best friend, and easily the most loved animal that ever has or ever will come into my life. He had a very rough life and I take pride in the fact that I gave him the best, most loving days he ever experienced.

My beloved boy:

Welcome over here Shawn!
It broke my heart to hear about Orion/Jackson (sorry, he'll always be Orion to me!) but I know you loved him to pieces right to the end.

So glad Nala is in your loving hands.

Welcome!

Which shelter is Nala from? Is she from the Akron Humane Society? She looks familiar. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Nala came from the RIchland County animal control shelter. She was adopted on July 2nd and turned back in on July 13th. I picked her up on July 17th because she was up for out of state rescue only OR euthanization.

She's a sweetheart, and truly a stellar example of this breed. She is skiddish as all get out though and very timid around new people.

Inside me is a thin woman trying to get out. I usually shut the bitch up with a martini.

Not really? She is strong, friendly, and loving.

She is skiddish around men and some woman but warms up quickly, and until then is skiddish. That's nothing negative about the breed, it's probably linked to the first 4 months of her life that no one knows anything about?

I guess you'd have to meet her to understand.

Don't listen to Michelle, she is mean and nasty to everyone (kidding of course)

Your girl sounds like my female Karma. She takes a while to warm up to new people, but once she warms up to you, she is your best friend for life.
