It really depends on your dogs i guess, and your neighbors! We have the wide chicken wire in part of the yard, but we are out there, kicking our boots, in the cold when its potty or play time, other wise they are on leash. We are too worried about the distraction that convinces them that jumping the fence is no big challenge. All our dogs don't really test the fence at all. I've had fosters that in seconds flat will have a hole dug or be climbing over it! Also, make sure you do go get a real door, or gate or have one made. With cement in the ground. Otherwise it will not be so sturdy and you may risk and doggy shaking it loose or depending on where you live, frost will do wonders on a fence.
Also, depending on what is too expensive, you can get used, large chain link parts to put together, to any size you want, 10 feet tall, 10 feet wide, etc. With a gate and all. ( check out craigs list) All you have to worry about is what ground surface you have. You can pick it up and move it when you move! Both temporary but I don't recommend with houdini dogs or unsupervised back yard time.
