Bully Stick Source Safety

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby BullyLady » December 5th, 2009, 4:25 am

I wanted some input on the safety of this source of bully sticks from you all.

http://www.walkinthebark.com/cart.php

Their products aren't American made, but they also aren't Chinese made. The bully sticks are made in India or Brazil, and are made from products by FDA approved cows.

Does this mean that the cows they are using to make these are American food grade quality? Does anyone or would anyone here be comfortable ordering from them?

1. Where are your dog treats made?

Our dehydrated beef treats such as bully sticks, tripe, gullets, etc, are sourced from India and Brazil, both countries which are deemed by the European Commission and Scientific Steering Committee to be unlikely a risk for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, aka Mad Cow Disease. None of our treats come from China.

2. Are your treats USDA and FDA approved?

Yes. All of our beef treats have passed both USDA and FDA inspection and are made from cattle which have been issued a certificate of health from the department of agriculture of each respective country.

I have no idea. I couldn't get past the video of Popeye on their main page! What an amazing little dog!

This is where we order treats from for the clinic. They had a pretty large minimum order though.
Do they let you make smaller orders for your individual home?

A really good thing about them is that they do not smell. Some of the other brands are really gross smelling IMO.

I don't think they do small orders but you might be able to use the store locater to find them by you cheaper or maybe split an order between a couple of people in your area.
