B'n'T Write-Up

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

I took the boys to the Bull and Terrier show in Ocala this weekend. We had a great time. I forgot to get any pictures but hopefully I will see some of me and the boys that I can post here later.

Dylan trialed for his OBT (an obedience title) yesterday afternoon and failed. Boo. He pulled a fast one on me and didn't perform his heel well - and not to toot my own horn or anything but my dog has a beautiful heel, no one could believe he wasn't giving me full attention - BUT he did the 2 exercises I have done very little training for perfectly...the jump and the retrieve. :rolleyes2: I'm actually not nearly as upset about the failure as I thought I would be. I figure now I have the first failure under my belt so really what is there to worry about now? LOL I also learned a lot about how to show my dog. The exercises he did so well on were both off-lead while the heel was done on-lead so I think he probably felt my nervousness through the lead and it messed him up, so next time we trial it will be all off-lead.

Other than that, Dylan had a good weekend. He worked on a new decoy and got several nice sleeve bites in. I was proud of him. He also participated in a novice weight pull and was a real good sport considering I am a TOTAL SLACKER when it comes to training wp. But it was fun and I'm inspired to do more work with him at home so hopefully he can do a competition pull at the next show.

My pup, Gator, had a great weekend. He took 2nd in his conformation class and only cause he still needs to calm down enough for the judge to see his movement better. He also won Driviest Puppy for his age group and I was super proud of how he performed, it was the best I have seen him yet. He's also a fast little bugger and took home First in the Sprint Races.

Overall, a great weekend! I learned a lot and both my boys had a lot of fun. :D :D
