Hello :wave2:

My name is Amanda and I am from Rochester, NY. I have had a pittie in my life since March of 2005 and can't imagine life without one!

Phoenix was rescued from Animal Rescue (who has adoption days at PetSmart) on March 26, 2005. I had been working at PetSmart since June of 2004 and watched the rescue take in 15 pittie puppies and get all but Phoenix adopted out. He was the 'ugly' one of the group, sort of a plain Jane. He was 10 1/2 months old before I adopted him and is the love of my life!

He does have his issues though. He is very shy with new people, and not very brave about trying new things. It took a couple of years before he would comfortably walk around and explore the house. When I first adopted him, he refused to walk on a leash and spent much of his time in his crate. He has come a LONG way in the past few years and is now working with me as my 'training assistant' when working with dogs who are fearful of other dogs.

Colt is my newest pup and the baby of the pack. He is going to be a year old on 12/7. He was rescued from a terrible BYB at the age of 7 weeks. He has been a handful! I work at a vet clinic so he came to work with me every day as a puppy for socialization and training and it shows! Though, he was attacked by a yorkie at 12wks old and now has a fear of little dogs which we are working on. Colt and I are going to start working on weight pull and we are working on our CGC and hopefully going to get into Rally.

India is our Shepherd/Rott mix and she is going to be 7 in May. She was being given away by someone at a Festival when she was about 6 weeks old and I am a HUGE sucker - so, she came home with me. She is a gem. She is the queen bee in the house, she is smart, well behaved and a beauty to boot!

Along with the dogs we also have 5 cats and 9 rats. 2 of the cats were abandoned at my job and the other 2 kittens I raised from the time they were about 16hrs old (at the same time a co-worker and I were raising baby raccoons). Our oldest cat is a rescued barn cat.

I am currently taking classes through Penn Foster to become a Vet Tech. I also run a small pet sitting business and I am an assistant trainer for Tails of Success (http://www.tailsofsuccessNY.com) and I am trying to self educate myself enough while I raise the money to get a training certificate of some sort. I live near down town Rochester with my boyfriend of 4yrs.

And now... Here are some pictures!!
