Here they are. I have to warn you, now that I sit and watch them, they are rather long and not very exciting. (And these are all of me because Missy was a bit camera shy ) Please excuse my dorky voice, and all the mistakes I made!

Sammy plays "Look at That".
Sammy has a bad habit of barking when someone drives up to the house, and we got the chance to get some good video of "look at that" when Bristol's sister got to the house. The dog you hear barking in the video is Renee; Sammy's bark is not that big

Gotty learns to go to bed
We worked on shaping Gotty to go to bed. This was the first time we worked with him on this, so it takes him a while to figure it out. If you don't want to watch a bunch of Gotty sniffing around, skip to around 3:30. That's where he starts to really figure it out.

Shaping Kinzyl to bow
This is part two, part one was too long to put on youtube. We decided to work on shaping Kinzyl to bow. To start out, I clicked for her looking down. This video shows a lot of things NOT to do when working on an exercise like this, especially with a dog who is new to the clicker. To start with, we should have worked for very short sessions. I also didn't click often enough, and missed several "clickable" looks. And there were just a few distractions going on We didn't get the full bow because I ran out of treats, and Travis called us in for dinner!

Teaching Sammy to down - FAIL!
Our attempt at down with Sammy. He had been doing it beautifully earlier in the day, so we decided to film it and of course he would not cooperate. Later on we discovered that the problem was that Sammy does not lay down on cold concrete. When we were in the sun, he was okay, and when we put a blanket down, he was downing like a champ. Of course we didn't get it on video.

I wish we had taken more video. Maybe next time. And this may be the kick I need to try to get some video of the shelter dogs.

Trouble will not Sit on a cold surface - tile, concrete. She's ok with Down, just won't put her butt on the cold surface. We use a rug for her also. Do you think she is spoiled beyond belief?

1. In Kinzyl's video, what were you looking for before clicking? I noticed sometimes she put her head down and you didn't click, like you were waiting on something else - were you waiting for her to stop sniffing?

2. You were using luring to teach Sammy down - did you try luring to teach Kinzyl to bow? I would think that would have been a lot easier!

I was just looking for her putting her head down, and you're right, I missed a ton of opportunities. Though in that video, I might have upped criteria a bit to just dipping her head rather than sniffing. Like I said, that was not a very good example. But since we forgot to video a lot of stuff, I figured I'd post it anyway.

We did not lure Kinzyl to bow, and with her, it probably would have been a lot easier. I just wanted to work on shaping, and I figured that a Princess should be able to curtsy, so we chose that to shape. I think we would have made a lot more progress if I hadn't been so out of it, and if we had done several really short sessions instead of one super long one.
