"Peeping Tom" at 1 in the morning

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

Postby amazincc » November 2nd, 2009, 3:51 am

Almost gave me a heart attack... :o
Image

"What the hell????" :?
Image

"YOU'RE not a CAT!"
Image

Kinda cute... for an oversized rat. :rolleyes2:
Image

After making lots of noise by pounding on the door... he finally slowly ambles off the porch and down the steps. :crazy2:
Image

Needless to say, the cat window is now locked at night and the felines are confined to the inside until morning. :swoon:

By the way... does anyone know if this is a baby or an adult???

Exactly why I would NEVER have a doggie door. Don't want varmints other than the two who own me inside.

EEWWWW!!!!!!! Those things are THE DEVIL REINCARNATED!!! Do you remember the story I had when I let the dogs outside and Lenny came in carrying one?!?!?! The little bastard, of course, played possum, and when I poked it with a broom is snarled it's freaking teeth at me.

Lenny's possum was the size of a fat raccoon. Yours looks small to me.

I love possums! :giggle:

I'd say your new buddy is probably this year's baby or a small female, looking for an easy meal. If you have any cat or dog food on the porch or within easy reach of the open window, you might want to move it. Otherwise he'll be sticking around.

They're generally fairly "clean" animals even though they eat garbage -- they're somewhat "resistant" to rabies, but do carry several kinds of harmful bacteria because of their eating habits and tend to have flea problems which they can transfer to pets.

Joyce is right about the size of some of the urban possums -- they can be HUGE because they'll eat anything and everything.

He is pretty cute :) Apparently we have them on the mainland, but not here!

I'm sure he is regretful for scaring you.

Yeah, looks like a juvenile. Still small enough to fit nicely in a crock-pot. :)

I am sorry but I am so scared of those things. We used to have a huge one sit on our front porch at our old house. I would open the door and he would hiss at me. Nobody believed how big he was until they finally saw it for them selves. Makes me shudder to think about him.

And I would GLADLY help you cook him. :) I sooooo dislike these stinkers. :D I don't even throw them a "bless you" when I see them squished on the side of the road since my encounter.

Think I will go to hell for that? :popcorn2:

It's not "wildlife" when it sleeps in the cat tree on the front porch... is it??? :|

And I'm not so much feeding him, per say, as I'm giving him options between getting into the garbage or - you know - have a nice bowl of oats and fruit...
