My son's friends

Postby HappyChick » October 28th, 2009, 4:20 pm

I've debated with myself whether to post this or not. It obviously has nothing to do with pitbulls. I feel the need to write something.

This past Saturday night three of my son's good friends from Pennsylvania (where Shane grew up) were killed in a terrible car accident. The friend's were Louis Henry Young IV, Joshua Jay Tate, and Bryan Charles Atkinson. Two of the boys were 23 and one was 22. Louie was engaged and set to marry his love this Saturday, Oct. 31. He also left behind two small boys. The vehicle they were in hit a truck that had pulled across the highway in front of them, also killing Jessica DeMarco who was 25. Her husband, the only survivor, is in critical condition at UPMC in Pittsburgh.

I remember all these boys, especially Louie, as being good kids and good friends to Shane.

Luckily, Shane was able to get a flight to PA yesterday. He is there for all three funerals, one today, one tomorrow, and one Friday. This is Shane's first trip back to PA in four years and I'm sure his emotions are on overload from it all. I'm just really glad he is able to be there with his friends. My heart hurts for the loss of these boys and for the grief that Shane is experiencing right now. Gawd it hurts to see someone you love hurting and not be able to help them.

Please pray, send good thoughts, etc. for the families and friends of these young people.

Thank you.
