We got very bad news about Vincenzo

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Every dog reacts differently to chemo, so don't lose hope or heart, and DON'T blame yourself.
When Mick was on the "protocol" he reacted the least to the one injection that's supposed to be the "worst" as far as side effects go... our Oncologist was amazed at that.

I'm glad he's back home, and I'm glad that you are handling things as well as you are... there is NOTHING better than a huge dose of TLC from Mom (and the rest of the family) to help a dog feel better. :)

Continuing to send many, many good thoughts and much love Vinnys way!!! :hug3:

Today we are seeing some good improvement. Vinny walked into the kitchen all by himself! He was hungry...lol chow hound. :D His steps are still as uncoordinated as all get out, but he is walking on his own. We took him outside and other than needing to be carried up and down the steps, he walked around with far less assistance. He finally did a number two (it's been a couple of days), I was worried he'd get constipated. He also seems to be able to focus and keep his focus better today. Last night he got up a few times during the night, just to change sleep positions, and was able to do so without falling. Vin's progress is slow, but he is giving us hope. Oh, and he has not had a valium since 4:30 a.m. yesterday.

Our Vinny says the fight is still ON!!!

Your good thoughts, prayers, and positive energies are working. Thank you!

OMGoodness, what a roller coaster ride! I hate roller coasters...

Vincenzo never ceases to amaze me. He is walking all over the place today!!! I mean following me into the study, walking into different rooms of the house, coming over to me for some lovies, waaaay more than he has done in days. He was standing near the doorway and waiting for me when I came home after work!!

Vin just now got up and barked when he heard a vehicle pull in the drive. Forever my protector.

He is still very clumsy, but I haven't seen him fall at all. The clumsiness is somewhat better. Vin even made it up the steps outside almost without assistance. All of this is even an improvement in how he was this morning and noon today. Something's working!!!

Oh - Did I mention I HATE ROLLERCOASTERS!!!!!

Thanks, everyone, for the love you send Vinny's way.

Yes, Vin is getting all the PBT vibes! I told him to stop worrying us and so far, so good.

Tomorrow we do chemo again. This time we are looking at giving him CCNU. We will do bloodwork to see how everything stands with Vin before hand. There is some concern that his kidney problems have flaired up. He is drinking quite a bit now and has had a few accidents in the house.

However, Vincenzo seems happy and he isn't letting anything keep him down. Vinny is ready for whatever it takes. When we go out, he always ends up walking over to the vehicles in the driveway and waiting to be let in one of them. Since the only place he has really gone in a car recently is All Pets, I know he is telling me he's ready to go back and do what it takes to get better. What a guy!

I gave him one quarter of a valium tonight because he's having some trouble resting. Now he seems comfortable. On a side note, I took 2 glasses of wine and 1 beer, and I'm feeling more comfortable too.

It's been a really rough week.
