Harleybird and his freaking allergies

Postby iluvk9 » October 12th, 2009, 1:07 pm

Seems every year at this time, he gets some sort of head-scratching thing. :rolleyes2:

He's on pred and antibiotic. It was working well for a week until TRUMAN DECIDED TO LICK IT AND OPEN IT AGAIN.

So, now Harleybird has an e-collar so he won't scratch it (which he wasn't) and his FRIEND won't slurp all over it, (which he was).

I NEED this to heal by the weekend for the wedding! :bs:

Why ME?? Put the e-collar on TRUMAN!!!

I guess I can pee with it.

I guess I can walk around with it.

I guess I can TRY to smile.

Oh, no. Poor Harley! :sad2:

And bad boy, Truman! >(

Just make sure the air can still get to it and keep the spot dry -- it will heal faster/better than putting anything on it. If it gets gross and dirty, wash it with something like chlorhexidine and then pat dry. Mac gets those spots on top of his head above his eyes and on his jawline in the spring time. :rolleyes2:

Awwww, poor guy. He doesn't look too miserable in it, which is good.

OK- Thanks! Without a big TONGUE on it, I am expecting better results.

I actually forgot he gets this every year and when the Vet looked back in his file he reminded me. :sad2:

what she said.

I will not comment on Oscar's current condition (note that no one has heard about his in quite some time, touch wood).

But yeah, been there (well not that exact issue, but same boat!), sympathize! They have the best timing :nono:

Very little, LOL. My sister-in-law uses many Polish words around her little girls so they won't learn to cuss in English. Yet. :giggle:

I know the basic curse words, too. :) From my parents. Good Pollacks that they were; only said bad things in Polish.

Cone head update: MUCH better looking wound. Truman hasn't tried to lick Harley's ear with the e-collar on.
