CRAWFORD - Town police and the Orange County District Attorney's Office are investigating four dead pitbulls found in a dumpster on Route 17K, just east of Route 302.
Crawford police Lt. Dominick Blasko said the dogs were discovered Wednesday evening after an anonymous tip was called in. Police have sent the dogs to a veterinarian to determine how they died. The dumpster is owned by Jet Waste and are kept at the Route 17K site for storage purposes.
"We are going to handle it as a criminal investigation," Blasko said.
Anyone with information should call Crawford police at 744-3300.
