Little Red Riding Hood Lied...

There is no such thing as the BIG BAD Wolf.

These majestic creatures were fabulous and sweet.

FYI This was the day after my hair cut. It is still long but nowhere near where it was...

I got to meet Takoda, Bandit and Sierra

The one on the right REALLY looks like the Malamute I grew up with.

Your hair looks GREAT, Therese!

one has a similar facial structure to the breed I care for most, the Carelian Bear Dog.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.

Nice pictures and glad you had fun!

Though I have to disagree with you on one point...wolves are indeed big and bad, and in the wild are anything but "sweet." They are seriously lethal predators and should be treated with the utmost respect. The animals in your pictures are very doglike in appearance, and are most likely hybrids with a lot of domestic canine blood. The more wolf you get in there, the more the animal behaves as if it were wild, and that's not a particularly fun thing to be around. The animals on that website have minimal wolf blood, if any at all.

For reference, I grew up in an area with a large number of very "wolfy" hybrids and they were unmistakably NOT domesticated canines. Their behavior was very unpredictable to say the least...dogs one minute, wolves the next. There is no mistaking the genuine article.

Those look a lot more "dog" than wolf to me :|

I'm glad you had fun!

Someday I want to go here and meet their wolves: http://www.wolfpark.org/index.html

They are gorgeous! But I agree with Demo. They look more like doggies to me.

That is Bandit, I was told he is mostly Alaskan malamute with some wolf.

The two in the pict are hybrids. The third who isn't in the pict Takoda is a full wolf.
In the link I posted it tells about each of them and the others in rescue.

Thanks for the compliment on my hair: LOL I am still not used to it yet.

Demo,
I agree any wild animal should be treated with respect and not made pets or bred to pets. Unfortunately, situations happen and people do breed them; so rescues like this become a necessity.

As for sweet, they were, but I wouldn't want to meet a real wolf in the wild.

Michelle,
I just looked at some of that link; it is pretty cool.

I "met" a pack in the Selway-Bitterroot back when the biologists insisted there were none to be found, but the ranchers knew otherwise. While they serenaded me to sleep from a couple miles up a canyon wall, the knife at my waist bag gave small comfort. I was 9 hours from the closest human who could render medical care. I did not carry a firearm, either, as I was prohibited from doing so by my employer. That trip taught me the value of a well-stoked camp fire that remains lit until sunrise.

That definitely must have been a scary experience.
