puppy question...

I just read the sticky for the 2 week new dog shut down...can I assume it would be the same with a new puppy?
I have been keeping her in the crate..taking her out for potty, letting Abby play with her for a bit 5-10 minutes, then putting her back in the crate. I don't want to overwhelm Abigail. The pup is a little relentless with biting Abby's cheeks, but Abby is being a good sport. I have also had them sit and just treat them for being calm.
Any input would greatly be appreciated...normally I would have done hours of research, this was just a little unexpected.
Also any recomendations for good books or websites about multi dogs and intros would be great!
