I hadn't updated b/c I feel bad about posting about her so much

Dru is doing okay...still not acting like she's sick...never did...her bloodwork for her kidney values came back good on Friday...so we lowered her fluids...however, we're having a really hard time doing the amikacin...she screams when we do it...bad...so, Dr. J wants us to start putting it SQ after we do her fluids, and he wants us to do it in the fluid bubble...we tried that and she still screamed...so last night I put it in the line after she got her fluids, and she did better with it that way....so, I guess that's what we have to do...

She started another 14 days of amikacin on Friday, as well....we'll send out another culture this Friday and see what happens...

She did get in a little scuffle yesterday with Asja...luckily she's fine...asja didn't fare so well...

Pretty much...She's a b*tch when it comes to other female dogs...especially Asja...this was Asja's arm before surgery:

Image

It went all the way around, and was being held on by about 1/4 inch of skin...

I just feel like every time things are getting better, they get worse...

Oh, and, in the meantime...she popped a stitch in her belly... :nono:

Yes, they do  ... but nothing can rush the growth (or, in this case, hopefully NO growth :D ) of the bacteria.

 Here is hoping for the great news!!!!

Ugh! Figures....he said it would take a few days to get the results back...so I'm hoping today or tomorrow....I know that, in the past, they sent prelims before sending the sensitivity results...so we got the culture results, but didn't get the sensitivity for another few days.

But thank you! I am VERY much hoping for good news!

I can't tell...she walks/tries to run on it...it looks okay...I get the staples/stitches out on Friday...so I'll know more then...

I'm still waiting on Dru's results...they don't even have partials back, yet...so I don't know if that's good or bad...

Still no results (can't decide if that's good or bad)...and the vet is heading on vacation until Monday...so, we're keeping her on Amikacin through the weekend....

Our lab will send preliminaries even if there is no growth.... can the vet call to see if maybe it just had a problem getting faxed? :|
