The Queen

This is where to talk about Pit Bulls!

Postby hugapitbull » August 4th, 2009, 2:51 pm

Well, it was tough, but I got the queen up at 5:30 AM for her television debut. Everything went well if you don't count the anchor guy she bit when he let us in the door, or the weather guy she chased over the fence, or the other random folks she stalked through the hallways :neener:

Actually, it was quite uneventful. We were a little disappointed that it didnt' turn out better. They normally send a camera crew to the clinic and do a live feed from there, but this time they did it at the TV studio and really weren't prepared to deal with a dog bigger than a lapdog. There was this "OMG, how are we going to do this" look of panic when they saw her. They had Dr F interview from the newsdesk with the anchor, and a second camera on Trouble as they talked in the background. Kind of a back and forth thing. It would have been better if she could have been interacting with Dr F while he was talking.

Regardless, it was positive exposure for pit bulls, tripawds, and cancer. That makes it worth the effort. I have a couple of friends who recorded it. Will see if I can get the clip posted.

She really was exceptionally well behaved.

Too bad it took 10 years and a major illness to get her to this point

I think she looks fantastic! And I like your vet - he really seemed to want to talk about her a lot. :) Newcaster guy, on the other hand, had on too much makeup and does not give off a warm fuzzy vibe.

Dr F claims she is one of his favorites and I have to believe him. :| He has been so awesome with her and with us, we really could not ask for more. We were sitting chatting before going into the studio and he was talking about how great she looks, and he reminded me without the amputation she wouldn't be with us now. :nono:

She has done so well, that thought doesn't even come into my mind anymore. (Thank goodness)
