Kinzyl got STUNG

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

I'm glad she's doing okay. Scooter is extremely allergic to bee stings. Last spring he was stung once and I ended up with a flying trip to the vet because his breathing became very labored.

Poor baby girl...nasty old bees.

I took Kinzyl into the vet this morning and she is on a very low dose of prednisone. 1 for 3 days and then 1 every other day. She will be on them a total of 5 days. I did ask about the prednisone and mention her just having her vaccines. I didn't want to compremise her immune system. He also gave her Tramedol. I gave her 1 today but will see if she even needs one tomorrow.

Yesterday she was at the point of not being able to get up without assistance. She was still very lumpy.
Finally got to talk to our vet and they said to give her another round of the benadryl and bring her in this morning.

She has bruising around her back legs where she got tangled in her lead trying to get free. He said that nothing was broken or torn.

She is going to be fine, just a little more rest on the couch will fix her right up.

Thank you for all the well wishes.

Oh poor baby. :( I am SO glad she is ok. Bee stings killed my nephews dog a few years ago. A swarm got into her kennel & bit her badly. She must have had an allergy because her throat swelled as did her neck and her collar choked her. it was awful.

I am glad she is feeling better

Bees are NASTY! I always worry b/c Asja snaps at them! Give Kinzyl lots of butt scratches from me...and some of the treats she like!

So glad She's on the mend!!!

I guess I never thought about bees stinging a dog. :|

I mean, Sure, If my dogs kinda-sorta act like they're gonna bite at a big ole bumble bee in the garden, I'll make that AAATTTTTT noise *you know the ones, moms) and tell em"" You don't wanna do that!" and by that time the bee has gone on it's merry way......

-----------Jody, who has worked among flowers for years and years, and has never been stung by any kind of bee........

except the one time I grabbed a little bee while I was pulling weeds...it wasn't the bee's fault.

Thanks Dee, She was very happy with a Kato kiss. :D

Today she is still a little slow but she did pick up her ball from on the porch and carry inside to the couch with her. :)
Sammy has been a very good nurse and companion. He is doing such a good job of keeping her company on the couch. Such a tough life. :rolleyes2:
