exercise limitations and arthritis

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

so, Oscar and I have been exercising together...

And when let him offleash, he'll lag behind, particularly near the end of the walk, particularly on the hills. Today I took him onleash with his training collar, it was close to noon and nice out so I knew that there would be lots of other dogs, and he kept up nicely. So now, I'm trying to decide if he was keeping up because he had his training collar on, or because he simply likes to doddle and smell the smells...

what do you guys think?
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.
