This whole topic makes me physically ill. I can only imagine what this poor dog has already been through.
Now there will be the heartache of the niece. I cannot even imagine how the entire situation was not avoided. It isn't my place to judge, so I sincerely hope you are at peace with each decision along the way.

Wow. Just. I have no idea. First, the poster posts like a defensive man type homo sapien, if you know what I mean. But..... Being a board populated with women, don't you think something could have been done about the dog sooner/ We all have rescue contacts and believe it or not a cute muttley is sometimes way easier to place than a pit bull.

Are your other dogs spayed and neutered? I hope so. And quite frankly a pregnant dog doesn't eat way more than normal until the last 3 weeks. And then it's broken up into small meals because the puppies squash the innards. So..... Where was the dog food going? AND with as many dogs as you have of your own, you'd be going through a 50 pound bag in about 9 days anyway. So she wasn't eating much more than you were already feeding. With 4 regular adults, a pregant female, 2 Poms and the Ibizan thing I go through 1 40 pound bag of royal canin (beezer) and 4, 40 pounders of Diamond lamb and rice. So I think if your girls are not spayed they need to be ASAP.
