Dru puppies

For those of you that don't know, Dru's puppies are being fostered with me. Josh and I drove down to Katrina & Greg's last weekend and picked up four pups. We have 2 male dutch shepherds, a male malinois and a female malinois. They're all doing great - they're growing like crazy and have started to stand and wobble around a bit. They were about 8 ounces when we picked them up, and all of the males are well over a pound already! The female is about 15 ounces and is quite the little firecracker

I am SO thankful to Kendall and Josh for taking some of these pups off my hands! I get updated everyday with lots of pics (I like pics :D ), and Kendall has been able to share a recipe for homemade formula with me! They have been awesome foster parents to these pups! They are very lucky to be in such good hands!

And talk about seven degrees of separation...I knew Kendall from the board here...but it turns out that Josh is the east coast coordinator for Dutch Shepherd rescue which was founded by, and run, by one of my very good friends, Christie (I am also a volunteer for DS rescue)!

haha, yes Harry does look quite confused! Josh keeps telling me he's not confused, he's just "so over them" :rolleyes2: :giggle:

Dora threatened to beat her up if she touches her babies, so Layla decided to snack on something else. The babies are safe, thanks to Dora :)

Dora is being such a good mommy!

And give it a couple of weeks to see what mal x dutchie pups are really like! :crazy2: I always joke around that our pups are MINE until they are 5 weeks old...after that...they're GREG'S!

Oh, and if you remind me, I was talking to Trudy from DS rescue...she gave me a recipe for gruel that she uses for weaning pups...I'll send it to you...

ha, they're already starting to get crazy. The boys keep trying to crawl out of the tank :nono:

ohhh yeah, definitely send that to me! I had someone from our RAW food give me a big bag of ground organ mix for them too

This was a huge task to take on. And I am so appreciative to both of them!

With all 9 puppies, it was taking a full hour to do a feeding - even with myself and another person - and that was during the day - at night it was taking an hour and a half...with half that many puppies, it only takes about 45 minutes!!

Oh yes, they most certainly are little escape artists. Gadda must sneak up while we're gone and give them pointers :rolleyes2:
