Indy Update 7/17

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Postby Marinepits » July 17th, 2009, 1:24 pm

Well, here we are a few months out from radiation treatment. There's no sign of a lump and the scar tissue is still very sensitive and bleeds easily. The scab you see is the last bit that needs to heal after his trip and fall a couple of weeks back. The hair is just starting to grow back in and it's a different colour and texture from what it used to be. I love his "liver spots", too. :giggle:

Considering what his footie went through, I'm happy with what it looks like now. Sorta gross pics ahead.............

How are you stopping the licking at this point, Jen? I know scabs get itchy and it is in the PERFECT spot to lick away!

:lol3: I'm hesitant to say "cured" because there's always *that chance* the cancer will come back, but I think it's time to take off the orange bracelets, LOL.

Well, everytime he gets a significant cut (one that bleeds pretty well), he ends up wearing the bucket on his head until the cut heals. He tore that scab in the picture off again last night when he walking in the woods, so he's got the bucket on his head right now and he wears it any time we aren't in the same room watching him.

The poor dog is a klutz, so it's going to be a while until we can get rid of that damn bucket!
