I am Stacie, a volunteer for Life Line for Pound Buddies out of Muskegon County,
( http://www.poundbuddies.petfinder.com )
I have somehow grifted into doing pit bull fosters.. Ok.. I am a sucker for that sad face, what can I say. The county where I get the dogs is one county over from where I live, and the pound county is NOT pit bull friendly, oh we have made HUGE gains, but the downtown has BSL and the pound use not to let us get ANY of the pits out without jumping thru a million hoops, as I was in the next county over it was a great way to get them out. Since then things have ligtened up a TINY bit, but not alot of bit. The Pit Bull Ward is still a sad sad place...and most dont get a chance.
The pound itself is an ALL KILL shelter, this means NO dog unless picked up by the owner makes it out, our volunteer group does the care, feeding, cleaning, fostering, adoptions out of the pound, and sadly our volunteers also have to euthanize the dogs. But the county was doing the ol stuff as many as you can into a big wire thing and gassing them. We do it nicely and softly as possible with humane injection euthansia. It really sucks.. but MAN what a difference they have made this group, I am proud to be a part of them!!!!
Well that was sad wasnt it.
So here I sit with three foster pit bulls.. (how did THAT happen??)
Drum roll.. here's my death row inmates....

I have trained with a trainer in a year and 1/2 long "Boot camp" with my own dog a few years ago. Oh man it was a learning experince, as my own dog Jack is a total butt head, dog aggressive, and well you name it.. And now that my brain has been rewired, I can look back at my clueless self and see ALL the things I did wrong.. you name it I did it. And see that it wasnt the dog so much as , well ME.
But , he was my first dog as an adult.. and man was I clueless about terriers..even big fuzzy ones.
I love this dog to death tho.. he is MY BUDDY. and now is about 12 or 13 years old.. and still a butthead...

THE JELLYBEAN (8 pounds of pure attitude....)
(sorry will have to re do her pictures..they are too big...)
I have been on a personal mission the past few years being involved with rescue pound dogs. And that is to keep dogs from going to the pound, and to keep adopted dogs ADOPTED.
I also like reading other peoples ideas and stories, it keeps my brain working. I dont think learning is ever done and there is always many facets to animals, humans, and the trainings inbetween!
Well that was probably WAY to long of an intro..but thats me.
oh some of you may know me on another site as "luvnstuff" I totally mussed up trying to sign up and had to pick my alter ego name.
:0 )
grooovy huh.. what no hippy icon... l o l !
*aught oh...all my pictures were too big... and I am out of time to re shrink them.. well I will post them later ! I put in their you tube videos and petfinder ad instead if you wish to see my fuzzballs!*
Here too, while I am a posting fool is a video about and shot in the beggining at the pound. It does have a happier ending so dont worry..
