When I first got one, it was the "look" that got my attention. I loved that athletic, tough, muscular, sexy look!
My first dog was a bitch name Cleo. Cleo was such a baby. When I fist, got her, I did not know much about the breed at all. As a result, she was still "sexy" in my opinion but not the athletic "sexy". I definitely over fed her.
As the years went by and I really started to learn about this breed; I fell in love with them more. One thing that stood out to me is their courage and willing ness to please. I then starting doing things like running them on the beach, swimming, flirt poling etc......................and then I saw their true "sexyness"! In my opinion, there is no breed that looks better than a conditioned pit.
Here in The Bahamas, there are not many true to standard pits at all. Most persons here want their so call pits to weigh 80 plus pounds, have huge heads, wide chests, low to the ground dogs. And now they are into the new fad of "blue" pits. Also, because of the big pit craze (or as I like to call it, money scheme), alot of persons mix their dog with bigger breeds like American Bull dogs. As aresult, most dogs here are sooooo unbalaced and not to standard. It is so weird that it is now to the point that if a dog does not have a big head or is to small, persons here consider it not a full bred pit. This rite here really irrates me.
My dogs on the other hand, tend to look different from most so call pits here. My dogs normall weigh between 33lbs-55lbs. The are very athletic looking and acting.
Anyway, thats a bit more about myself and my dogs. I will add a bit more later.
