They were hanging out in the x-pen all weekend...I was keeping an eye on them...checking periodically. Well, at one point I got a knock on the door...it was my 8 year old neighbor. Turns out, she and her family found two ducklings wandering through their lawn and wanted my opinion on what to do with them (we live a few doors down from a boat launch into a reservoir). I came over with my duckling carrier, scooped them up and explained that they were mine.
They got a big laugh out of that...and were glad they came to me first! Guess I'm the go-to crazy animal lady now. 
Needless to say, they went into a cage with smaller openings between the bars!
