Puppy Incontinence

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Hey all - I'm wondering if any of you has ever had experience with puppy incontinence. Last night I went to move Roxy from the sofa to her crate for bed and she had peed on the sofa - while she was sleeping. I'd had wet spots on the sofa a couple of times and cleaned them up thinking one of the kids had spilled something or that Christina had torn her diaper off (in that phase) and wet the sofa. But last night it was definately Roxy and she'd definately been asleep. Thoughts on this?

Has she been spayed yet? I know Michelle's dog Ruby has spay incontinence. I think it's pretty common and pretty easy to fix.

Yep, she was spayed before she came to me. Was a pediatric spay - done at about 8-9 weeks old. She doesn't do it when awake, only when sleeping.

Have her checked for a UTI (urinary tract infection). Bring a sterile pee sample to the vet and ask them to run it.

It could be spay incontinence, but generally that doesn't develop in such young dogs. Rule out a UTI first.
Never make someone a priority in your life when that someone treats you like an option.

and remember, the urine should be fresh, as in, within a few hrs and refridgerated in that time ;)
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day, tomorrow doesn't look good either.
