Did they explain their reasoning behind this? I feed raw as well, and since I just switched to once a day, I'd be interested to hear the explanation behind this.
I never fast the dogs because I would feel guilty beyond guilty.
Why? The purpose of a raw diet is to as closely mimic a dog's natural, wild diet... however, dogs in the wild routinely go a day or two without eating, as well as eating a lot all at once, because they only eat when they can.. yes, dogs are not obligate carnivores and they WILL graze on nuts, berries, grains, etc. however, they are by no means grazers by choice and will absolutely gorge themselves when they eat.
I don't skip meals because I get home late because it's not my dog's fault that I'm home late. I feed them and then stay up for another hour so they can go out twice after they eat.
I don't choose not to feed my dogs when I get home late because it's not convenient for me, I don't feed them that late because I don't think it's good for them. Not to metion, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate 14 barking dogs at 2am.. and then again at 3-4am if I stayed up to let them out again..
I don't really think it's fair to judge when you don't have a large number of dogs that require several hours of care, several times a day...
