I guess I'm a PBF refugee

Hi all, I'm a Pit Bull Forum refugee I guess. It would appear the site has been shut down so here I am. I'm hoping it's just an April Fools joke, but it's too early for jokes. :sad3: Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't I'll share a little about myself.

I've been into Pit Bulls for 10 years now. I found my first Pit Bull as a pup 10 years ago and she is my pride and joy. She's what inspires me to be involved in the breed and rescue. I have 2 other Pit Bulls, a Husky mix and a ferret. All rescued as well. I seem to be a magnet for stray Pit Bulls because that's the majority of what I find, especially when I'm not looking. They are a popular breed around here and of course, not popular with the right people so there are tons of them in the shelters and on the streets.

Other than rescue, I'm in college at the moment. I'm going for a degree in animal behavior. My ultimate dream job would be a Humane Law Enforcement officer, but there seems to be more of a demand and opportunities for animal behaviorists than an HLE officer. So, as long as I'm good at what I do, I will hopefully be able to help animals and their people live together peacefully and prevent pets from being dumped in shelters for behavior issues.

I work part time in an animal clinic where I'm learning some very valuable info and earn a little extra pocket change.

So, there it is. This site seems to be the closest thing to PBF out there so I'm sure I'll enjoy being here just as much. I hope there aren't any other Pit Chicks on here. I don't want to change my name, but I don't want to step on the toes of any current members. :newB:

Ok, ok. I don't have any of my dogs to offer right now (I know, bad mommy), but here are some of me and my kinfolk in Austin during SouthxSouthwest

Me and my boyfriend. He's the one with the long hair. He's what they call "man pretty". He's going through a Hippie/Jesus faze right now.

The other people are my mom (she loves Stevie Ray Vaughn) and my uncles.

We like 'man pretty'!

My nephew went through the dred stage too. HIS idea of dred locks was just to not wash his hair for like a year & a half. :puke:

Do you have a Home Depot near you? The "secret handshake" involves drinking, using their bathroom and losing your undergarments....

Anyway...WELCOME! :wave2:
