switching to raw lots of ?s

Postby dragonfly » March 16th, 2009, 5:08 pm

I have been reading up on here about a all raw diet I would like my dogs to benefit from this as well , but I am not able to completly switch now because of money issues Can I do both ? raw and kibble? and still have the same benefits? Or should I wait to do raw when I can afford to go all out?
right now I feed Chicken Soup is there a better (reasonably priced) that would go along with the raw? oh and is chicken the way to go or beef or a combo ? I have quite a few old steaks in my freezer are they ok to give they don't look freezer burned but they have been in there a couple of years :|

I do both right now... raw in the morning, and Orijen kibble for dinner.
Chicken is the easiest way to start out when feeding raw... I'm hoping all the other raw feeders will chime in ASAP, since my Internet is a little iffy while I'm in the middle of moving.

At the top of the Nutrition section you'll see we have a whole forum dedicated to raw feeding. Check it out - your answer may be in there. :)

I feed Raw and sometimes Kibble (Evo,Orijen, petcurean). I would say chicken to start and then once your dog is used to the raw, slowly transitioning into other protein sources.
